Imām At-Tirmidhī (d. 279H) stated: “Chapter: That which is has been revealed concerning a man who sees a woman and becomes amazed with her [beauty].” Then he reported [with his chain narration] that Jābir Ibn Abdullah said:
When a man, therefore, comes to his wife for intimacy, she should not refuse his advance, or shrink away because she is the doorway for him to a halāl relationship. Imām At-Tirmidhī stated: “Chapter: That which has been revealed concerning the right of a husband over his woman.” Then he reported [with his chain narration] that Talq Ibn ʿAli stated that Allah’s Messenger (salallāhu ʿalaihi wasallam) said:
“Whenever a man calls his wife to fulfil his need for intimacy, let her come to him even if she is standing over the stove.” (Reported by At-Tirmidhī, no. 1160. Graded saheeh by Shaikh Al-Albānī. See As-Saheehah, no. 1202)
Our womenfolk should understand that they have a major role in protecting their husbands from sin by offering themselves freely to them whenever they are called to the marital bed. After all, a woman may not be aware of what her husband has seen, which has caused him to come to her as his lawful wife seeking only that which Allah has made permissible for him. In this, there is an immense reward for the woman and a protection of society from corruption.
