All praise is due to Allah, Lord of all creation, and may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family and all his Companions.
Indeed, Allāh revealed this magnificent Qurʾān so that it may be reflected upon and acted upon. Allāh, the Most High, said:
كِتَابٌ أَنْزَلْنَاهُ إِلَيْكَ مُبَارَكٌ لِيَدَّبَّرُوا آيَاتِهِ وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ أُولُو الْأَلْبَابِ
“[This is] a blessed Book which We have sent down to you so that they may ponder over its verses and that the people of understanding may take heed.”
Acting upon this noble verse, let us listen to a verse from the Book of Allāh and reflect upon the admonitions and rulings it contains. Allāh, the Most High, said:
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا قُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ وَأَهْلِيكُمْ نَارًا وَقُودُهَا النَّاسُ وَالْحِجَارَةُ عَلَيْهَا مَلَائِكَةٌ غِلَاظٌ شِدَادٌ لَا يَعْصُونَ اللَّهَ مَا أَمَرَهُمْ وَيَفْعَلُونَ مَا يُؤْمَرُونَ
“O you who believe! Protect yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones, over which are angels who are stern and severe. They do not disobey Allāh in what He commands them; rather, they do whatever they are commanded.”
