Question: What kind of du’ā or congratulations should you give to a person who has made ʿUmrah or returned from it?
Answer:
It is better to make Duʿa for them that Allāh accepts their Hajj or ʿUmrah:
May Allah accept your ʿUmrah and forgive your sins.
Or:
May Allah accept your Hajj and forgive your sins.
Or:
May Allah accept your rites of worship, greatly multiply your reward, and replace for you whatever you have spent. (Ibn Muflih: Reported by Saʿeed from Ibn ʿUmar.)
Its permissibility is also reported from Imām Ahmad and others from the Salaf.
Imām Ahmad would say:
May Allah accept your Hajj, purify your deeds, and grant both us and you the return to His Sacred House.
