The Principles of the Jahmiyyah and Muʿtazilah Which Led to the Deviations of the Kullābiyyah, Ashāʿirah and Māturīdiyyah―The Story of Jahm Ibn Safwān (executed 128H)
The Jahmiyyah and Muʿtazilah hold that the Attributes of Allāh are all created and detached from Him, and this is a futile saying in opposition to the Qurʾān and Sunnah, and because it entails negation of the Attributes which Allāh has affirmed for Himself. The Jahmiyyah negated the Attributes on the basis of principles they innovated, which entailed misinterpretation, distortion, and outright rejection of the textual proofs. So, they claimed that Allāh is devoid of all Attributes except that He exists (al-Wujūd). This is the belief of the Jahmiyyah.
