The Medicines of the Heart are Five

Ibrāheem al-Khawwās (rahimahullāh) said:

“The medicines of the heart are five: reciting the Quran with reflection, emptiness of the stomach, standing in the night prayer, supplicating to Allah in last part of the night, and sitting in the gathering of the righteous.”

قالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ الْخَوَّاص:

«دَوَاءُ الْقَلْبِ خَمْسَةُ أَشْيَاءَ: قِرَاءَةُ الْقُرْآنِ بِالتَّدَبُّرِ، وَخَلَاءُ الْبَطْنِ، وَقِيَامُ اللَّيْلِ، وَالتَّضَرُّعُ عِنْدَ السَّحَرِ، وَمُجَالَسَةُ الصَّالِحِينَ».
