Question: When it comes to the sighting of the new moon at the start of Ramadan, is it allowed to follow any Muslim country, or should we go out and seek out the new moon (hilāl) in our city, or the neighbouring towns – know that a local sighting or the moon is possible – and those in charge of the Islamic centres (in the US, UK and elsewhere) strive to seek the sighting of the new moon?
Answer: Follow the Islamic centres that you are under or connected to in the affairs of Religion.
