Abu Sa’eed al-Khudree (radiyallāhu ‘anhu) narrated that the Prophet (salallāhu ‘alaihi wasallam) said:
“The truthful and trustworthy trader (or businessman) will be with the Prophets, the truthful ones and the martyrs.” (At-Tirmidhi no. 1209, graded saheeh by al-Albāni — see as-Saheehah 9/240)
Hakeem Ibn Hizām narrated that the Prophet (salallāhu ‘alaihi wasallam) said:
“The buyer and the seller are free to choose so long as they have not separated from each other [after exchanging the goods]. If they were truthful and made clear the defects [in the traded goods], they will receive blessings in their transaction. But if they lied and hid some of the defects, their transactions will be deprived of Allah’s blessings.” (Bukhāri no. 2110, Muslim no. 1532)
