“What Constitutes Dhikr (Remembrance) of Allāh, the Most High.” By Shaikh Sālih Al-Fawzān (hafidhahullāh). Tremendous, concise and beneficial speech…

“The Dhikr of Allah is performed on the tongue by uttering subhānallāh, alhamdulillāh, Allāhu akbar and by reciting the Qurān. Dhikr of the heart is to fear Allāh, to have hope in Him, to be in awe of Him, to desire Him, to dread Him, to rely on Him, to depend on Him, to seek refuge with Him and other than that from the actions of the heart. Dhikr of Allāh is also by the outward actions of the limbs such as Prayer, Fasting, Hajj, ‘Umrah, Jihād, and the other acts of obedience and worship whether by speech of the tongue, actions of the limbs or of the heart. All of it is Dhikr of Allāh, the Most Perfect, Most High.” (Al-Khutub Al-Mimbariyyah 5/45)
