No Muslim is afflicted with exhaustion, or sickness, or grief, or sadness, or harm, or distress (deep sorrow) or even a prick of a thorn except that Allah will expiate some of his sins due to that…

Abu Sa’eed al-Khudree and Abu Hurayrah (may Allāh be pleased with them) narrated that the Prophet (ﷺ) said, “No Muslim is afflicted with exhaustion, or sickness, or grief, or sadness, or harm, or distress and sorrow, or even a prick of a thorn except that Allah will expiate some of his sins due to that.” (Al-Bukhari, nos. 5641, 5642)
