Print Friendly, PDF & Email

(Q. 555): Is it correct that a woman doesn’t finish her ‘iddah from Talāq until she performs ghusl after her third menstrual cycle?

Answer: There is something mentioned. However, what is correct is that she exits [her waiting period] even if she has not made ghusl (bath) after becoming pure from her period. That is because it is allowed to divorce a woman after she becomes pure before she has a bath. And her fasting (siyām) is correct before she takes a bath.

(Masā’il Al-Imām Ibn Bāz)
