A Son Benefiting From the Wealth of His Father Earned Through Interest (Ribā)

Question to Shaikh Al-Albānī (no. 4): Is it permitted for a man to take the from the wealth of his father so as to benefit himself in his business while knowing that his father works with the usury-based banks?

Answer: It is obligatory on everyone who has reached the age of awareness and guidance that he strives with haste towards freeing himself from taking benefit from interest-based wealth or consuming it — so he takes from it (i.e., from his father) while he is in need out of necessity. As for extending the consuming of this unlawful wealth beyond that, then that is not permissible for him, and Allah knows best.
