The praise of Imām al-Dāruqutnī (d. 385H) for Abu Bakr al-Bāqillānī the Ashʿarī (d. 403H) deceived Abu Dharr al-Harawī (d. 434H) which led to the creed of the Ashāʿirah entering Maghrib (North West Africa) and Spain.
