BISMILLAH

Question: Is it permitted to recite the Qur’aan in one’s sajdah (prostration in prayer) with the intention of du’aa (supplication) such as reciting:

“Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.”

Answer: If one recites a sentence or sentences from the Qur’aan with the intention of du’aa (supplication) such as reciting:

“My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and [many] from my descendants. Our Lord, and accept my supplication.

Our Lord, forgive me and my parents and the believers the Day the account is established.”

I do not see any harm in that – and success lies with Allaah.

End.
