Question: A women thought that a Jinn came out from under her chair so she placed two Mus-hafs under her chair. And the those two Mus-hafs still remain under that chair even though she has left to live in another city. Is it now upon me to remove those two Mus-hafs?

Answer: Placing the Mus-haf under the chair is an outrage and a disrespect of the Qur’aan wherein the one who does that may even fall into disbelief (kufr). Upon the Jinn, one should recite Aayatul-Kursee (Qur’aan 2:255), and Sooratul-Ikhlaas and the last two Soorahs of the Qur’aan (i.e. al-Falaq and an-Naas, the Soorahs of seeking refuge), and the reciting:

أعوذ بكلمات الله التامات من شر ما خلق

“I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allaah from the evil of what He has created,” and other than that from the supplications and remembrances. And success is with Allaah.

End.
